Hello!

I have decided to document about my driving experience in this blog.

I enrolled into Bukit Batok Driving Centre, as a school candidate in mid July 2014. I signed up for Class 3A (automatic transmission). My parents advised me against taking up manual, because we both know that I am very bad with my coordination skills, lol. Besides, manual car requires more practice. More practice = more money. So yep, I chose the easy way out and settled for Class 3A instead.

1. Registration:During the registration, you'd be required to pay an enrollment fee of about $96++. Then, the customer service officer at the counter, will usher you to set up a 'bbdc bank account' (as I would like to call it) at the top-up kiosk machine. Top-up could only be done via Nets or Cashcard only. Minimum top-up was about $200 I think (I might be wrong, I can't remember), but I started off with $500.

I was allocated to Group G8032, which had 5 male malay instructors in them. My dad (who accompanied me for the registration), advised me to go permanent with this group, by applying for the 'Fixed Group Instructors Scheme'. In this scheme, I will be allocated to either one of these 5 instructors, for all my practical lessons. It would cost more, but I was assured that it'll be worth the money.

Before I left, I was given a BBDC goodie bag. In it contains, the following books, and a bottle of mineral water. Then, I immediately booked a slot for my very first basic theory lesson!

2. Theory Classes

I finished two Basic Theory Classes (1.01 & 1.02) within one week. Then, I immediately booked for three theory practice sessions. These theory practice sessions are essential, as it prepares you for your BTE (Basic Theory Evaluation) & Basic Theory Test (BTT).

Before booking for the Traffic Police Basic Theory Test, you will need to pass your Basic Theory Evaluation first. I passed my BTE and BTT with just one attempt! Then I applied for my Provisional Driving License, and I started with my first driving practical session. More, in a next entry!
